Vixen S2 and S3 differences |

| Differences
Many people will give you a list of the differences between the Vixen S2 and Vixen S3. However from the selection of cars that I have seen the changes have been introduced sequentially with a couple of key changes to mark the point at which Series 2 became Series 3. On many cars there will be other minor changes and many cars will have subsequently been modified. To confuse the picture still further there are at least a couple of cars around which have chassis numbers placing them among the last of the S3s while they have S2 bodyshells. So I will speculate and attempt to list the changes in roughly the order they were made. If you know better contact me and I will correct the list. Which is best? To some extent it's a matter of taste but for me a mid production S2 has the MGB heater, dual circuit brakes, heater controls that work and fresh air vents. It also has the four shock absorber rear suspension which can be strengthened by putting on four springs. The S3 is however supposed to be 55 pounds lighter - has the later Ford engine which is supposed to be stronger and has alloy wheels as standard. Take your pick! |
